Words Of
Encouragement
January 2065
A quote from President Nelson:
"During my ten decades of living, I have concluded that counting our blessings is far better than 'recounting' our problems. Rather than just enumerating our trials, we can pray to understand them. We can pray to see them as opportunities for growth, even for our transformation. Therefore, no matter our situation, showing gratitude for our privileges and blessings, as well as for our afflictions and trials, is a fast-acting, long-lasting emotional and spiritual prescription".
Ministering
Matters
January 2026
In the April 2019 conference, Bishop Waddell made the following statement:
"as we seek to minister as Christ did, we will be provided opportunities to forget sel and lift others. These opportunities may often be inconvenient and test our desire to become more like the Master, whose greatest service of all, His atonement, was anything but convenient"
Let us all seek to forget ourselves and lift others as Bishop Waddell sugests and, in so doing draw closer to knowing our Savior.

A Message From Your Stake Relief Society Presidency
A New Year’s Reflection
As we begin a new year, many of us look back on the past months and quietly review the trials we have faced and the blessings we have received. Each of us carries memories—some heavy, some joyful—and all of them become part of the story the Lord is writing with us.
As I reflect on my own challenges this past year, I am humbled to see how often the blessings have outweighed the difficulties. There were moments that felt overwhelming, yet there were also moments where the Lord’s hand was unmistakably present—comforting, guiding, and reminding me that I was never alone. I hope each of you can look back and recognize those same tender mercies in your own lives.
The beginning of a new year often brings renewed motivation. Many of us make lists of goals with high hopes of accomplishing everything we write down. But life does not always unfold the way we plan. Sometimes we don’t make it past the first goal. Other times, we make progress on many goals but still feel as though we somehow fell short.
The Lord sees our efforts differently. He reminds us that progress in His kingdom comes “by small and simple things” (Alma 37:6). Even quiet, consistent steps toward Him carry great spiritual power.
In the parable of the ten virgins, the Savior teaches us that spiritual preparation happens a little at a time. The wise virgins were ready because they had gathered their oil consistently—drop by drop—long before the moment arrived. In the same way, our spiritual strength is built through small, daily acts of discipleship. As we move through this new year, may we seek to gather light each day through prayer, scripture study, kindness, service, and moments of quiet trust in the Lord. These simple “drops of oil” fill our lamps with the light of Christ and prepare us to meet Him with confidence and peace.
I’m reminded of a simple experience from this past year. There was a day when I felt completely overwhelmed, carrying far more than I felt able to handle. In the middle of that discouragement, someone sent me a short message—just a few sincere words of kindness. It didn’t solve everything, but it lifted me enough to keep going. Looking back, I know that small act of love was a blessing placed in my path by the Lord. It taught me that even the smallest efforts, whether given or received, have power. Those “drops of oil” matter.
As we embrace this new year, I hope we can focus not only on achieving our goals but also on recognizing the blessings that come along the way. Let us give ourselves grace, remember that the Savior understands our struggles, and trust that He magnifies even our smallest efforts.
May we look forward with faith, move forward with hope, and continue gathering light—one consistent drop at a time.
Wishing you a year filled with peace, growth, and the Savior’s gentle, guiding light.
Lovingly,
Sister Angel Jensen
